Bereavement to Achievement

A holistic programme that supports women who have been bereaved.

The goal is to provide the support for women who experience the trauma after losing their loved ones. The techniques learned allow women to cope, live again and move forward.

The Bereavement to Achievement project exceeded outcomes, with 330 bereaved BME women accessing the service, with 96.4% showing improved emotional and physical wellbeing accessing bereavement counselling services. The befriending support provided by trained volunteers benefited 128 bereaved women, helping them overcome their grief and become more socially active. The majority (95%) fo the users reported an increase in confidence; 124 bereaved women improved their employability skills by gaining accredited qualifications and 62 secured employment.
